What is quidditch?
Quidditch is a fast-paced, mixed-gender sport, first played in 2005 at Middlebury College, Vermont. Since then, it has grown to be played in over 30 countries across the globe, with around 40 teams currently competing in the UK.
In the UK, quidditch is governed by QuidditchUK. You can find out more about quidditch at a few of the following links:
OUQC was founded by Angus Barry on 20th November 2011, and was one of the first quidditch clubs founded in the UK.
Since then, the club has had an exciting history, growing in membership to the point where for many years, the club had two teams: the more competitive Radcliffe Chimeras (ex-national champions, winning the first and third British Quidditch Cups in 2013 and 2016), and the Oxford Quidlings, a more relaxed second team.
Currently, only the Chimeras compete at regional and national tournaments in the regular QuidditchUK season, and OUQC continues to welcome players of all abilities and backgrounds.
